It would be nice if within settings it was possible for a user to specify their base currency, and have all valuations and returns be quoted in that base currency. Currency options could be both FIAT and Crypto.

Agreed, a GBP/BTC option would be great.

Although the default USD totally makes sense, I'd love the option in Settings to change to my local currency. Could be treated as a secondary number given with "Approx." mentioned to safeguard against the conversion not being 100% accurate.
